This large three-story building is always alive with activity. It is often the first place sought out by those visiting the Free City. Almost the entire ground floor, and some of the cellar, is given over to dining, with three separate restaurants, each focused on different delights, baking, frying and grilling. The food is excellent, and portions huge, the drinks are never watered-down, and the prices are reasonable.
For those who want just to have a drink or two (or three...), the bar is located upstairs, in a grand drinking hall filled with folks of every race, and from the four corners of Oerth. The third floor holds bedrooms of varying sizes for those who need lodging.
Olaf Al-Azul, the proprietor of the Silver Dragon, is a large human of mixed heritage. When asked, he jokes about being descended from barbarians of ice and fire (though no one has ever gotten him to admit to any specific nationality). Over the years, he has attracted a crew of employees from all over the Flanaess - mostly human, but few of his employees have common ancestry. It is a point of pride to Olaf and his employees that, among them all, they can speak every language known across the Flanaess. Olaf strolls the Inn throughout the day and all night long. Regulars know he rarely needs the bouncers to break up a fight. He is more likely to sit and serve drinks with any rowdy folks talking them into good humor. Yet, if that fails, he will swiftly end the fight, himself.
On most nights, a young half-elven woman sings to the accompaniment of a small troupe of musicians. The music is usually happy and bright, but she has been known to sing the occasional ballad.
At the door a pair of bouncers greet folks. One is a bald, red bearded dwarf who is most commonly laughing and drinking. The other is a stern half-orc whose shaved head and torso are covered with battle scars. He carries a pair of kukri poked into his sash. Neither man is armored yet their posture and stance indicate a readiness to leap into action. When anyone arrives they politely ask for weapons and shields to be stored at the door and will not admit anyone is metal armor. These are common rules for such establishments across the Free City.
