•Immunity to magic sleep effects, and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells or effects.
•Low-Light Vision: An elf can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. He retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
•Weapon Proficiency: Elves receive the Martial Weapon Proficiency feats for the longsword, rapier, longbow (including composite longbow), and shortbow (including composite shortbow) as bonus feats.
•+2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. An elf who merely passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check to notice it as if he were actively looking for it.
•Automatic Languages: Common and Elven. Bonus Languages: Draconic, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, and Sylvan.
•Favored Class: Wizard. A multiclass elf’s wizard class does not count when determining whether she takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing.

I am forever trying to live down to the expectations of others. HA! Actually, I have always felt that I was a disappointment to my parents, regardless of what they said. But how does a young elf match himself against two mated Favored Souls of Corellon Larethian, leaders of the Faerie Mysteries? And how do I live up to the name that they gave me? I mean, "Unicorn Shadow blessed by the dragons"? Really? I tried for several decades to live up to that, but I couldn't succeed that way.
Well, I did it by throwing all of that away and learning arcane magic. Don't get me wrong. I didn't throw out elven tradition. I did study Aerdrie Faenya, the Winged Mother, and even learned to pray to her. But when I cast spells, I don't pray for them. Even in this I withheld judgment and did things in my own way. While I studied arcane lore I also worked to learn other skills. And even though I studied the written spells and earned my book of spells, I learned to cast my spells without the standard preparation. Maybe that was the influence of my parents, I honestly don't know and care less. I still study and do plan someday to learn the true wizard's art. Perhaps someday I can learn to merge both arts to become a true magus. But today I am ready to take my craft and step out on my true path.
