Collecting only the coins, the adventurers advance forward, with Reijar and Feeder far in the lead, ahead of the light cast by the sunrod carried in
Wakandah's belt.
Ahead, a flickering glow illuminates a cavern of mammoth proportions. Riejar and Feeder look down upon a huge pit,
easily a hundred fifty feet across and a bit more than that wide. The remains of hundred of meals, the stink of urine
and feces and other various filth lay heavy in this vast meeting hall. A giant bonfire in the center of the cavern
floor, some twenty feet below their current position, allows the pair to see more than a score of orcs, including one that is quite a large specimen, even for
his race. Standing more than seven feet tall and dressed in half-plate armor, a gleaming greatsword sheathed upon his
back, the chief of orcs laughs coarsely and loudly amongst several others clustered around him. Three orcs tend to a
trio of huge roasted pigs spitted above the fire, and the orc warriors wandering about the cavern partake of the meat, or drink ale, or wrestle, or engage in
gambling, according to their current desires.
A small cave off to Feeder's right serves as an animal pen, more than a dozen chickens, several fat pigs, and even a cow meander beyond a poorly crafted
fence. The animals seem somewhat underfed and dispirited in the darkness of the Underdark. They must have been brought from the surface world in recent weeks, and will likely not be forced to endure these lightless
conditions for much longer.
The ledge upon which they stand ends abruptly in a cliff to their right, and on the other side circles around the perimeter of the cave to the left until it
gradually reaches the cavern floor nearly on the other side of the vast cavern. Other passages lead from this huge
cave, though where they might go is impossible to discern.
It doesn't appear as though Feeder or Riejar have been seen as of yet, though the rogue cannot be sure if the orcs will see the light of the sunrod as the
rest of the party approaches from behind. It seems unlikely, given their state of relative unreadiness and the harsh
light of the giant bonfire that rages in their midst. Still, it wouldn't be impossible for one of the orcs below to
spot an approaching light source and wonder who might be holding it.
