I know that in reality, there's pretty much a bunch of small campaigns going on in the same setting, but what if we occasionally got updates on what's happening in different Kingdoms, say, as parties finish their adventures, or even just when something momentous happens in one of the games? After taking a loooong break from PBP, life calmed down a lot and I'm back.

I have tried to make the WE ranger more like the normal one, although I exchanged the spellcasting for the WE feats, and made it more fighty. I have the idea the class still needs a bit of tinkering since it sounds overpowered, but Im not sure of what to remove. Please evaluate and rebalance if necessary.

Arresting spellcasters

Say you've arrested a spellcaster. How can you prevent him from casting any spells?

For a wizard, taking away his spell-casting components will stop most spells. But what about a bard? A cleric? A sorcerer?

I suppose binding his hands and mouth will also do the trick in most cases, but not all.

Can anyone think of other creative ways?

Ok... this whole discussion is about flair of magic, though it does concern some rules.

Mainly, when a caster uses a Summon Spell, how does he, the character, know what he is summoning?

The answer, I think, is either through experience, or prior knowledge, such as having studied the spell in school. While many casters have gone through official training, some haven't. In fact, I recall having a PC in a campaign of mine who discovered her talents on her own, and never had any...

Second of all, I'd like to suggest an advertising idea. I go to a local Fantasy shop a couple times a month which contains a bullitain board helping wandering D&D members hook up. Will you folks with the almighty titles be willing to accept the Archivist class from Heroes of Horror? I think it is really well done. It is basically a divine wizard who learns cleric spells as a wizard but may scribe any divine spell (druid, ranger, paladin) into his prayer book.
